The Real Question Surrounding ‘The Accountant’ Sequel

2016 gave us one of Ben Affleck’s best performance in a movie. No, I’m not talking about Batman vs Superman. Starring as Christian Wolff, Affleck was nothing short of superb in 2016’s The Accountant. The action movie revolves around a literal accountant, who keeps less than reputable people as clients and also happens to have a high-functioning form of autism.

We already know Ben Affleck will return for the sequel to the action-packed film. The real question is, will Jon Bernthal? If you haven’t seen The Accountant, there are spoilers up ahead. If you’ve read a few of my articles, you know I’m a big Bernthal fan. And he’s really the reason why I saw this great movie; which I’m glad about, as it’s probably one of the best movies of 2016 and gets so little recognition.

Bernthal plays Brax(ton), a hitman with an affinity for sweets; who ends up in Wolff’s crosshairs. Spoiler alert, it turns out in the end they’re brothers who have not seen each other in ten years. Neither had the best upbringing, with a mother who abandoned them and a tough father; so it was obviously an emotional reunion. We need answers. Last we saw the brothers, there seemed to be hope the two would at least be in touch in the future. So, will Bernthal return?

According to Deadline, it’s a good possibility he might. The news is fresh, so once I hear more details about cast confirmations and premiere dates, I will let you know! If you have not seen The Accountant, I highly recommend it for your viewing pleasure.
