‘Widows’ Movie Trailer Review

You may have seen your fair share of heist movies, but have you ever seen one done by the Steve McQueen and Gillian Flynn before? No, you have not. That is what is setting this star-studded movie apart from all other heist movies. When you have possibly one of the best directors of all time pairing up with one of the greatest modern-day authors, you get Widows. If McQueen and Flynn aren’t enough to bring you to the table, you should check out the cast list.

Let’s go through it: Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki, Cynthia Erivo, Colin Farrell, Brian Tyree Henry, Daniel Kaluuya, Carrie Coon, Jacki Weaver, Garret Dillahunt, Robert Duvall, Liam Neeson, Jon Bernthal, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Andre Holland, Lukas Haas, and Michael Harney. Take a look at this beautiful cast and tell me you don’t want to go see Widows.

The basic plot is that after four robbers are killed during a heist gone wrong, their widows step up to finish the job. While the premise of the film may seem simple, this is Steve McQueen we are talking about. With films like Hunger, Shame, and 12 Years a Slave under his belt, we’re sure to have a heart-wrenching story with breathtaking acting and beautiful wide lens shots that force the viewer to really concentrate on what he is showing you. This paired with the twists and creativity Gillian Flynn is known for, we’re going to have a film that will be much more than meets the eyes.

Widows will be released November 16, 2018.
